Welcome to Comeback Counseling

I decided to pursue a career in mental health in 2015 when therapy saved my life.

I’d covered up what I’d been feeling for years, self-medicating and avoiding every painful memory and emotion that I had, but it never made me happy. When I was on the verge of bringing my story to a conclusion, I made a call and everything changed for me.

Now, eight years later, I’ve been doing what I love and working to help those of you that, sometimes, may feel like that help isn’t possible.

Surviving trauma can feel like the loneliest experience imaginable and it can feel worse when we learn to hate the skills that helped us survive. We hate the way we people please, avoid, self-medicate, isolate, get angry, panic, and think, putting us in a place where we don’t trust ourselves and beat ourselves up for every bad thing that happens.

But there’s strength in being a survivor. Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary adaptations, and those adaptations got you through it. Through understanding our adaptations, we build self-compassion before adapting to our post-trauma world. I’m here to help you do that.
